• Support for statewide data collection, statement of David Carroll, for NLADA, on proposed changes to MCR 8.123, 9-27-05.
• CDAM's President, Jill Price, releases on September 7, 2006, an "Open letter to the Criminal Defense Bar."
• SCR 39, adopted by the Michigan Senate (3-22-06) and Michigan House (6-8-06) urging collection of system data through a joint project of the State Bar of Michigan and National Legal Aid & Defender Association.
• The Eleven Principles of a Public Defense System were endorsed by the State Bar of Michigan's Board of Commissioners on May 2, 2005.
• The Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan (CDAM) created a Task Force on Attorney Fees (3-16-06), for the purpose of supporting members who wish to contest fees, withdraw from cases because of inadequate fees, or challenge the system of payment.
